Arts Council Announces New Hire

Boerne, Texas – June 22, 2007 – The Board of the Cibolo Arts Council is pleased to announce that they have hired Brent Holbert as their interim Development Director.

“We have entered a new era at the council,” says CAC President, Tami Kegley.  “Brent will be spearheading our fund raising efforts and we welcome his dynamic attitude and fresh approach.  He brings not only an enthusiasm for the arts to the table, but a great sense of humor as well.”

Brent holds a degree in anthropology from Texas Tech University.  He has owned a telecommunications company, worked as an independent cultural consultant in Shanghai, and owned an art gallery specializing in importing art from China.  Most recently, Brent worked with Thomas Summers at the Cave Without A Name to develop and implement the concept of their adventure tour program.

In addition to his work with the Cibolo Arts Council, Brent is also working on establishing the Anthrotrek Lodge in the village of Ban Xiang, Laos.  Brent is a seasoned world traveler.  He’s lived with the monks in Tibet, and one of his favorite memories is watching the sunrise from base camp at Mount Everest.

“I’m not just raising money, I’m raising the cool factor in Boerne,” deadpans Holbert.  “Seriously, Boerne is a great community and deserves a diverse and stimulating cultural center.  When we all work together, we can make that happen.  I am looking forward to getting the word out about all the great work the arts council is doing now and for the future.”
