    It doesn't have to be October for people to gather and celebrate German culture in America. The Boerne Berges Fest proves that! The 3-day, family-friendly festival centers around the German heritage of the Boerne area. This festival commandeers Boerne's Main Street on Father's Day weekend for an old-fashioned community parade on Saturday and continues with the "Festival in the Hills" at Herff Park/Kendall County Fairgrounds. Attracting people from all over Texas, the Boerne Berges Fest boasts not only the Boerne Berges Fest Parade, but also music from one of Texas' best German folk bands, dachshund races, carnival rides for people of all ages, and much much more!   2. A Thirst for Nature Event

    Author and lawyer Liza Farrow-Gillespie will join us for this morning's "Lattes on the Library." Have you ever wanted to follow a dream but were afraid to? Liza is a testament to doing something difficult, and loving it. After recovering from breast cancer, Liza and her husband Alan had a sailboat built, left their jobs, and sailed around the world. After returning to their land-centered lives several years later, Liza was diagnosed with Stage IV ovarian cancer. Through her treatment, Liza wrote a book about their around the world sailing adventure, "A Voyage of Heart and Song." Join us this morning for a conversation about following your dreams, in the face of adversity. The library will provide pastries and coffee!
