City of Boerne Establishes a Speakers Bureau

As another way to reach out and connect with community members and Boerne Utilities customers, the City of Boerne has established a Speakers Bureau. The Bureau includes city staff who are available, by request, to present city information to local groups.

Should a community group or non-profit agency have questions about city services or need information related to a specific city or utility project, someone from the appropriate city department can be scheduled to attend the meeting and provide information and answers.

“The City of Boerne has over twenty-two departments that provide public services to the Boerne community,” said Communications Director Pamela Bransford. “It is our job to keep our residents informed and be responsive to their needs in an efficient manner, so offering this Speakers Bureau is another method of community engagement that we are adding to our toolbox.”

Other methods of outreach include the city’s revamped website; the City of Boerne, Boerne Utilities, and several department Facebook pages; the monthly ‘News you can Use’ e-newsletter; utility bill inserts, newspaper stories and event fliers. Also public meetings such as City Council, Planning and Zoning, and Historic Landmark Commission are held monthly.

Call the City of Boerne Communications Office at 830-248-1521 to request a presenter for topics ranging from public safety to animal services to utilities and much more.
