Something delicious is making its way to the Hill Country Mile! Salty and Sweet is a brand-new business, created by Tina and Pat Clearly, with a vision of community fellowship and outreach in mind. Salty and Sweet will be a place designed for gatherings. They plan to hire members of the special needs community to work at the store with goals that enable them to gain every day, life experiences and give them independence, responsibility, and confidence. Salty and Sweet also takes great pride in providing treats for anyone with food allergies. Guests can expect a playful and safe outdoor play area where kids and adults can relax and just have fun! With a menu that is comprised of pretzels, candy, popcorn, and ice cream, everyone is sure to find something to satisfy their cravings! Look for a March 2019 opening for this specialty Boerne sweet-shop!
Take a turn for the best off of I-10 at the Waring/Welfare exit to find the new Kinematic Brewing Co.! Situated on 50 acres of beautiful Texas Hill Country land, you’ll be able to enjoy the outdoors and relax with friends and family from Kinematic’s wide front porch – complete with rocking chairs. Enjoy farmhouse style beers, French ale, or their Grissette alongside many other barrel-aged beers and pair your drink with finger-lickin’ foods from a variety of on-site food trucks. They have even built a stage for local artists to come out and share their talents with locals and visitors of the Hill Country. Next to serving up delicious crafted beers, lots of southern hospitality, live music and food trucks, you can host your next event here, too! The new space at Kinematic Brewing Co. will be perfect for weddings, receptions, corporate happy hours and more. Come out to see all that Kinematic Brewing Co. has to offer its guests this spring 2019!
Inferno’s is coming to Boerne! Currently, they have a location in New Braunfels, TX and they are excited about bringing their fresh cuisine to this side of the Hill Country. Their menu is full of fresh (never frozen) foods with everything from their signature pizza pies to cold, crisp salads. The team at Inferno’s asked the people of Boerne what they hoped to see, and the answer was a full bar! This team listened and is bringing a fully extended, happy-hour style bar that is somewhat separated from the restaurant, and will be complete with TV’s for optimum game watching with friends and family, 6 wines on tap, 32 draft beers, and plenty of specialty drinks. Hang out on the comfortable outdoor patio areas - covered and uncovered - and enjoy live music entertainment! Bring your loved ones and order a cold drink, because this is going to be the perfect place for gathering and making memories this year. Inferno’s hopes to be open for business by the end of January 2019.
Coming this spring 2019, the Bevy Hotel will be a full-service destination hotel! This DoubleTree by Hilton hotel will be complete with 120 guest rooms, a restaurant and bar, a coffee shop, a conference center, outdoor event spaces, a resort pool and fire pits all inspired by the beauty and rusticity of the Texas Hill Country. The hotel embodies a “bevy” – a cornucopia – of everything that people come to the Hill Country for, including its music scene, diverse foods, artisan beverages, beautiful wildflowers, and unbeatable hospitality among so many other treasures. Experience the luxury of Boerne and the Texas Hill Country here in the spring of 2019!
Richter Tavern and Oben–
Richter Tavern is part of the new digs at 153 Main! This restaurant and bar will serve up delicious, new American foods that are bound to make your mouth water. Yummy steaks, chicken and seafood entrees fill their menu – but don’t miss the chef’s daily menu specials! Guests who decide to dine at Richter Tavern can also take advantage of their “fun menu” full of artisan pizza, sandwiches, and pub grubs! This restaurant will have everything from fun dining to fine dining. Something cool about this new Boerne restaurant is that they plan to continuously play silent movies from the 1920’s and 30’s in 3 different locations of the restaurant. This amenity will add to the vintage ambiance of Richter Tavern that the owner has envisioned. Just above the second-story restaurant is a private, membership-only room that will be called Oben – a “speakeasy” of sorts. This private club will overlook the second floor (Richter Tavern), and have a fantastic view of Boerne’s Main Street! This private club space will only be about 1,400 sq. feet! These businesses are scheduled to open in the spring of 2019.
The Boerne Bookshop and Studio 153–
Also housed in the 153 Main space will be The Boerne Bookshop and Studio 153. The Boerne Bookshop will be an independently owned and operated bookstore that will specialize in children’s books, book clubs, and best seller titles. This will be a great resource to get involved with community outreach, as the programs offered will appeal to locals and tourists! Studio 153 will operate as a public art gallery and studio that will have art for sale, as well as Hill Country made soaps, lotions, and natural cosmetics. 153 Main is continuing to grow and has so many fun things in store for their future. Make sure to check it all out when spring 2019 hits!
Although they technically opened at the tail end of 2018, we decided this next business should make the list! Inspired by the television show American Ninja Warrior, NinjaCity has made its way to Boerne. This is an obstacle-based gym that offers classes, parties, and an open gym for anyone who wants to come burn energy, challenge themselves, and reach new goals! NinjaCity offers a wide variety of obstacles that allows people of all ages and abilities to develop skills, build strength, agility, and balance in a fun environment. The obstacles change every month, which means that there is always a new challenge, and always something new to experience. Although NinjaCity has already had their soft opening, their grand opening event will take place on January 12th, 2019 and Joe “The Weatherman” Moravsky from the hit TV show will be available for meet-and-greets! Check their website for details on this special event!
Yes, it’s true! The Boerne Visitors Center is going to have a new, permanent home. We are so excited about our new building and new location, and we can’t wait to serve those who are seeking the Boerne experience right on our very own Hill Country Mile! Expect to see lots of information from Boerne attractions, restaurants, shops, publications and more. Be sure to come see our brand-new space this spring 2019!
