There’s something especially charming about a Farmers Market, and Boerne is about to have TWO! The Cibolo Nature Center and Farm has been the host of the only Farmers Market here in town for years. Now there will be a “new kid” on the Boerne block – 1905 Farmers Market! Supporting local business has never been so nutritious and fun!
Introducing the 1905 Farmers Market! Their Grand-Opening event is September 4th of this year, and it will be a reoccurring event every Wednesday from 3PM-7PM. In the middle of your week, this is a perfect spot to get locally sourced meats, produce, eggs, bread, preserves, bath and body products and much, much more! Some of their weekly vendors will include From Scratch Farm, Spengler Farmstead, Wahoo’s Seafood Co., Simple Bakes by Lola, Oli Tea, and A Taste of Elegance Cakery. Live, local musicians will take the stage to accompany the event to enhance your shopping experience. This event is free and open to the public, and held weekly at the Kendall County Fairgrounds.
Every Saturday morning from 9AM-1PM, the Farmers Market at the Cibolo is held on the grounds of the Historic Herff Farm which dates back to the 1850s. You can actually visit and tour the homestead when you come to this weekly event if you so desire (we recommend it, it’s pretty cool)! Sift through fresh, locally sourced groceries (like chicken eggs and veggies) and peruse through its faithful, weekly vendors. Here, you’ll find body products, coffees, jams, jewelry and more handmade/homemade goodies! Take the time to explore their inspiration gardens and ask questions of their garden docents. The public is also welcome to register and participate in one of their regularly scheduled educational workshops. This event is rain or shine, and there is no entrance fee!
