Since 2003, the Friends of Guadalupe River SP and Honey Creek SNA have hosted an annual Halloween in the Park event the last Sunday of October. This year, on Sunday, October 25th from 6-8:30 p.m., strangely dressed characters of all kinds will be scattered along the woods behind the Discovery Center in search of little ghouls and goblins and their parents. The buffalo soldiers program will participate this year with a haunted frontier army encampment. Soldiers and camp followers who are still on campaign from the 1870's will be on patrol looking for out of place ghouls, ghost and, goblins.
