The line-up of performers includes an award-winning cast of six actor-singers, Tom Masinter & The Amazing Codger Band, as well as a special appearance by Jack Edmonson as “The Duke” John Wayne.
“We hope that our audiences will extend their Fourth of July celebration with an entertainment tribute to America and a picnic in the beautiful Hill Country near Boerne, Texas,” says Musical Director Tom Masinter. Allegro returns to the Cave following recent musical presentations of LOVE, SWEET LOVE and REJOICE!
PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN features a toe-tapping selection of pop and patriotic songs –including an audience sing-along—performed by Mary Morrow, Rebecca Trinidad, Katie Oliviera, Ben Gamble, Tim Birt and Ben Granger. Masinter leads the Amazing Codger Band which features Steve Nathanson on percussion and DC Olsen on bass. Songs made famous by great American singers Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland, American Rock ‘N Roll hits from the 50’s like Shake, Rattle and Roll, At The Hop, Earth Angel, When I Fall In Love and many more audience favorites will be performed.
The show also provides a perfect setting for a family picnic. Visitors are encouraged to bring picnic baskets, ice chests, barbeque grills and folding chairs for seating. Guided tours of the awe-inspiring underground caverns are available for an extra fee. Other features include the nature-oriented gift shop, panning for gems and fossils, geode surprise, and nature trails. Parking is free. Food trucks serving beverages, barbecue, and other treats will be available.
The performance will be in the new Pavilion on the surface. Advance purchase tickets are Adults - $15, Children 6 – 12 - $7, Military – active and retired and children under 6 – no charge.
