Main Plaza is a 1.72 acre community park. It can hold a large number of people or serve as an intimate setting in the gazebo. The first area designated in the City of Boerne to serve as a community park was established around 1852 and was known as the Common Area. This area was much larger than the remaining part, which is now known as Main Plaza. The area was fenced and utilized by citizens to water horses and livestock while in town. Today, the plaza serves as the site of numerous festivals, concerts, car shows, and celebrations.
