10 Spooktacular Halloween Festivities in Boerne
Let me fill you in on a little secret. I’m a weenie and I HATE being scared! The good news is, that’s not all Halloween is about, & Boerne offers a wide variety of ways to celebrate the Halloween and fall season. There is something for every thrill level including trunk-or-treating, costume contests for all ages & even pets, a haunted house (not for me though!), a fall festival, a special haunted concert down in the cave & even a “not-to-spooky” trail walk in the park! A Thirst for Nature: Owlers & Growlers
October 13, 2016- Head over to the Cibolo Nature Center, bring the kids, grab a beer and enjoy an evening of owls. Craig Hensley, TPWD's "Wizard of Wildlife", will give a brief presentation about the fascinating anatomy, diets and lives of owls.
Fall Family Festival
October 15, 2016- This FREE event is held at the Herff Farm and will include pumpkin painting, a hay bale maze, water activities, crafts and more!
Carnival of Lost Souls
October 28 & 29, 2016- 2nd Annual Haunted House Fundraiser sponsored by the Boerne Police Officers Association. All proceeds from this event will go towards the Blue Santa program and Boerne Volunteer Fire Department. The haunted house will be open on Friday the 28th and Saturday the 29th of October from 8PM until Midnight.
Howl-O-Ween Pet Fair
October 29, 2016- Bring your WHOLE family (including your 4 legged loved ones) to this 6th annual event. This year it will be held at the Kendall County Fairgrounds Pavilion. The pet costume contest will start at 5pm. Stick around for the Gary P. Nunn benefit concert following the pet show.
October 29, 2016 – Head to the Patrick Heath Public Library for a ghoulshly good time at the 1st Annual Boerne Boo! They will have trunk or treat, Boo Cycle parade, costume contest, bounce house, games, pumpkin decorating, arts & crafts, photo booth, face painting, balloon sculpting, wand decorating and more.
Hot Rod Night Halloween Bash
October 29, 2016- Everything that you love about the regularly scheduled Hot Rod Nights at Soda Pops, plus live music with the Ricky Adams Band, kid’s games, Trunk-or-Treat & a costume contest for kids, pets & adults with fab Pops prizes.
Concert in the Cave- “The Haunted Show”
October 29, 2016- The Rahim Quazi Trio presents a truly wonderful and eerie evening in the Cave Throne Room. Just before Halloween, the cave will be haunted with a woventale of songs – both classical and jazz - and ghost stories. Enjoy a family friendly evening loaded with fun and surprises.
Spooktakular Halloween Festival
October 29, 2016- Join The Roundup for their 2nd Annual Spooktakular Halloween Festival filled with fun, exciting, and safe activities for the entire family! Enjoy Trick or Treat candy stations throughout the entire park, pony rides, tractor hay rides, pumpkin decorating, costume contests & prizes, games, and even live music by The Clever Name Band who will be throwing in some family Halloween classic tunes!!!
Halloween in the Park
October 29, 2016- Since 2003, the Friends of Guadalupe River SP and Honey Creek SNA have hosted an annual Halloween in the Park event in October. Join them for trick-or-treating along the “not-too-spooky” trails of the park.

October 29, 2016- Now this is a costume contest! Check out the awesome prizes they have for the winners.
