Wings Over Boerne - March 8, 15 & 22

As always, expect the unexpected when wild animals are asked to put on a show!

Envision the sight of Master Falconer John Karger, the director of Last Chance Forever, as he whirls a baited string and a hawk swoops and picks it out of midair. Or an enormous raptor dives from the branch of the tree above you; right over your shoulder and gracefully lands on a person’s gloved hand. The birds fly with the precision of a fighter pilot as they glide above you.

Owls, eagles, falcons and hawks will thrill you with their contained power. Even the vulture will charm you as he dances across the lawn in front of you! Majestic is a word that truly describes these dynamic feathered creatures. These are some the marvels you can experience at Wings Over Boerne. Three times a day (11am, 1 pm & 3 pm) three Saturdays in March at the Boerne Visitors Center, you will see up close, unique, educational and entertaining bird of prey shows by Last Chance Forever that will leave you awed, inspired and guaranteed to want more!

This will be the eigth year that the Boerne Convention and Visitors Bureau and Last Chance Forever have partnered together to present Wings Over Boerne. Last Chance Forever was founded in 1978 by Master Falconer John Karger. This non-profit organization is dedicated to the rehabilitation of sick, injured and orphaned birds of prey, scientific investigation and the education of the public. When birds are deemed non releasable and are not suffering any physical pain, they are utilized as educational ambassadors and provided permanent sanctuary. Last Chance Forever believes that education is the key to making a larger impact in the world. They support that belief with public educational programming and practical environmentalism. Their programs are seen by over 500,000 people annually throughout the United States.

Visit the Last Chance Forever website to learn more about this fantastic organization and their efforts to rehabilitate some of earth's most majestic birds.
