COVID-19 Vaccine Information, Additional Resources
Boerne and Kendall County will continue to work with local partners on the state of Texas’ plan to distribute COVID-19 vaccines to critical populations, within the phases designated by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
The two current providers in Kendall County – H-E-B and My Urgent Care Boerne – have allocated all the vaccines they have received.
Providers, as determined by the state, continue to focus on vaccinating Phase 1A and Phase 1B populations. At this time, the Texas Department of State Health Services has communicated to local officials they currently do not have a public COVID-19 registration process. Individuals curious about where they can receive their vaccine should check with their primary care provider to see if they plan to be a vaccine provider. Each provider will likely have their own sign-up system, though they have all been trained on providing the vaccine and the allocation order by Texas DSHS.
Here's what we know about vaccine distribution so far:
o Supply is very limited in our area.
o If you are in an eligible group defined by the state to get vaccinated, you can call local providers for availability and scheduling. Do not just show up asking for a vaccine.
o Providers are receiving high call volume and may not be able to answer immediately, so have patience.
