Cave Without a Name is located just 11 miles north of downtown Boerne and is a designated Natural National Landmark. This living cavern hosts 6 major rooms filled with spectacular stalactites, stalagmites, delicate soda straws, cave drapery, magnificent flowstones, rimstone dams, an unusual helectite, and more amazing formations! Also, Monthly Concerts in the Cave are held down in Queen’s Throne Room. Above ground, kiddos can mine for gemstones and fossils, have a geode sliced open right in front of their eyes or take a hike one of the designated trails around the property.

So much more than a nature center! Open to the public since Earth Day 1990, the 100 acres of Hill Country trails and wilderness provides education, research, entertainment and outdoor activities for more than 100,000 visitors a year, while promoting sound stewardship of land, water and wildlife. It is also available for weddings and meetings of 100 to 150 people. Fishing on Cibolo Creek at the Nature Center is catch and release. Hunting is not permitted.

The 60 acre Historic Herff Farm and Homestead has recently been added and is the home of the Farmers Market at the Cibolo on Saturdays, March-October.

With four miles of river frontage, the Guadalupe River takes center stage at the park. Step away from the river to find the more peaceful areas. On the river, you can swim, fish, tube and canoe. While on land, you can camp, hike, ride mountain bikes or horses, picnic, geocache, and bird watch. The park will loan fishing gear for use in the park. Hunting is not permitted. The 1,938-acre Guadalupe River State Park and the adjoining 2,294-acre Honey Creek State Natural Area (Guided tours available every Saturday) comprise more than 4,200 contiguous acres of Hill Country habitat.

Attend a ranger program on birding, geocaching, stargazing and more. Check the Events page of their website for upcoming program or contact the park for special tours. Learn more about the park’s natural features at the Discovery Center. Take a closer look at nature using magnifying glasses, microscopes and binoculars. Explore hands-on discovery boxes and exhibits.

Camp at one of 85 water and electric campsites or nine walk-in tent sites.

Hit the trail! Explore 13 miles of hike and bike trails. Trails range from the 2.86-mile Painted Bunting Trail to the .26-mile Barred Owl Trail, which leads you to a scenic overlook of the river. The Bauer Unit offers less-traveled trails. Some park trails are open to horseback riders. Note: They do not offer equestrian camping.

60 acres of historically significant land that is home to the Herff Homestead. Owned and managed by the Cibolo Nature Center and will soon encompass a sustainable living education center, a community hub, and natural adventure area for children to play. The Herff Homestead is open to the public for tours on Saturdays (March-October) during the Farmers Market at the Cibolo.
