Boerne’s Hill Country Mile Reflects on its New Look, Historic Roots and Trendy Retail Scene

Hill Country Mile- BoerneDowntown Boerne’s Main Street has been the heart of the city for more than a century, and while those historic buildings still represent the same kind of down-home hospitality visitors to the Hill Country have grown to love, a lot has changed.

The 1.1-mile stretch of Main Street and surrounding area, known as the “Hill Country Mile,” hosts a laundry list of on-trend shops and boutiques, modern cuisine and coffee shops, galleries and wonderful places to stay.

Hill Country Mile- Victorian RoseThe new face of Boerne’s “Hill Country Mile” will debut May 12-15 with the “More Than Just a Mile” weekend celebration! The weekend kicks off Thursday, May 12, when more than 30 retailers and eateries will stay open until 9:00 p.m. offering great deals--a fun girls' night out! While the dining and shopping scene is perfect for a girls’ trip or couples getaway, kids and outdoor enthusiasts love hiking and fishing along the extensive trail system, just steps away from all of the Hill Country Mile’s amenities. Spend some time on a walking tour of Art al Fresco, Boerne’s collection of outdoor sculptures, then hit the art galleries along the way.  Whether you're a regular visitor to the Hill Country Mile, or haven't seen us in a while, you'll find something fresh and new at More Than Just a Mile weekend.

Hill Country Mile- Texas Meat Co.The motivation to name and brand Boerne’s vibrant downtown area “The Hill Country Mile” was to build a sense of community among business owners and residents, and create a unified, easily recognizable destination for visitors that is inclusive of all surrounding attractions and businesses. The new logo, which features the tagline “More Than Just a Mile,” will be prominently featured on banners along Main Street, and businesses that support the effort will have  the logo displayed in their windows.
