11 Spooktacular Festivities in Boerne!

As the temperature begins to dwindle down,the spookiest holiday of the year quickly approaches: Halloween!  Some folks like to hunker down for a titillating scary movie, and others like frightful nights on the town.  But if you’re not one for guts n’ gore on Halloween, Boerne’s got 11 family-friendly celebrations that are sure to get everyone in the spirit! 

A Thirst for Nature: Owlers and Growlers  

October 26, 2017- Spend an evening at the Cibolo Nature Center! Bring the kids, grab a beer provided by the Alamo Beer Company, and enjoy a presentation on owls. Craig Hensley, TPWD's "Wizard of Wildlife", will discuss the fascinating anatomy, diets and lives of owls.  After the presentation, head out for an “Owl Prowl” and call out to the owls of the night!


Harry Potter Night at the Maker’s Place 

October 27, 2017- Bring your wands, glasses, and wizard robes to join the folks at the Maker’s Place for a magical evening! Watch and enjoy a movie, paint some pottery, and have a bit of dinner. Everyone in the family is invited! Don't miss out on this night of mischief and fun!


Fall Family Festival 

October 28, 2017- The Historic Herff Farm is holding a special celebration for the fall and harvest season!  The whole family is welcome to enjoy pumpkin painting, bobbing for apples, a hay bale maze, carnival games, fall crafts, face painting, a costume contest, and more! 


Howl-O-Ween Pet Fair 

October 28, 2017- Bring your WHOLE family (including your 4-legged loved ones) to this 7th annual event. This year, the Pet Fair will be held at the Kendall County Fairgrounds Pavilion. The pet costume contest will start at 5pm sharp.


Boerne Boo! 

October 28, 2017 – Head to the Patrick Heath Public Library for a ghoulishly good time at the 2nd Annual Boerne Boo! They will have a costume contest, bounce house, games, pumpkin decorating, arts and crafts, photo booth, face painting, balloon sculpting, wand decorating, trunk or treat, and more.  Kelani Yogurt will be there selling sweet treats for the event, as well!


Brew Bash 

October 28, 2017- Join the folks out at Random Beer Garden for an evening of family friendly Halloween fun! 80 craft brews on tap, costume contests, food trucks, pumpkin painting, games, games and more games!!  Attendees can also enjoy live music by the Chris Lopez Band.


Hot Rod Night Halloween Bash 

October 28, 2017 - Everything that you love about the regularly scheduled Hot Rod Nights at Soda Pops, plus live music with the Ricky Adams Band, kid’s games, Trunk-or-Treat and a costume contest for kids, pets, and adults with fabulous Pops prizes!!


Concert in the Cave: “The Haunted Show” 

October 28, 2017- The Rahim Quazi Trio presents a truly wonderful and eerie evening in the Cave Throne Room. Just before Halloween, the cave will be haunted with a woven tale of songs – both classical and jazz – and ghost stories.  Enjoy a family friendly evening loaded with fun and surprises.

Spooktacular Halloween Festival 

October 28, 2017- Join The Roundup for their 3rd Annual Spooktacular Halloween Festival filled with fun, exciting, and safe activities for the entire family! Kids can enjoy trick-or-treating throughout the park, pony rides, tractor hay rides, pumpkin decorating, costume contests, prizes, and games. Adults can expect live music by the Smoke Wagon Band, Happy Hour from 11am-6pm, games, haunted hay rides, a costume contest, prizes, and more!

Drink Texas 1st Annual Halloween Costume Contest 

October 28, 2017- Drink Texas is hosting their first adult costume contest, and the prizes are hard to beat.  Best Original Costume gets a free trip to Aruba, while the Best Couples Costume gets a free trip to Mexico!! So, get your creative juices flowin’ and stitch together your best ideas and head out for this special event!


Halloween in the Park

October 28, 2017- Since 2003, the Friends of Guadalupe River State Park and Honey Creek State Natural Area have hosted an annual Halloween in the Park event in October. Get the kids all dressed up in their costumes and trek along the trails of the park for trick-or-treating, face painting, stories, free food, and more!  This will be a Halloween night everyone is sure to remember!
