Boerne Is For Car Lovers!

Boerne is known for some “razzle dazzle”.  We are referring to the shopping, the dining, the scenery, and especially the classic cars!  There is a seemingly endless list of car shows that take place here in Boerne every year.  From the earliest model Fords to the newest Corvettes, flocks of people make their way to Boerne to celebrate their shared love for shiny automobiles!  Next to being the perfect hub for all your car show needs, there’s something for everyone on Boerne’s Hill Country Mile – even if hot rods aren’t your thing.  Keep reading to see what’s on the docket for 2018!

Hot Rod Night –

Hot Rod Night starts making its way back into your weekend plans every time spring rolls around.  2018’s kick-off event is this Saturday, March 24th!  Party like a local at Soda Pops Patio Grill and Bar where you can dig into burgers, beer, shakes, fried pickles, and more.  Admission is totally free!  This old-fashioned, 50’s-style block party also boasts the best in local entertainment.  This Saturday, enjoy the musical stylings of The Ricky Adams Band!  In addition to live music, the mood is set perfectly with hot rods and classic cars lined-up in all their antique glory parked right outside the venue for viewing.  Keeps tabs on our event calendar for more opportunities this Hot Rod Night Season to party like it’s 1955.

Heart of Texas Annual Corvair Reunion –

You won’t have to wait long before you get a chance to view flashy, classic vehicles again!  April 13th and 14th is the annual Heart of Texas Corvair Reunion!  If you don’t know where the word “Corvair” comes from, it is a portmanteau of “Corvette” and “Bel Air”.  These cars were manufactured between the years 1960-1969, and they are as unique as their name.  Those who want to attend can expect a Welcome Party on Friday evening at Soda Pops, as well as a car show on Saturday at the Boerne Brewery

Texas Corvette Association’s 26th Annual Open Car Show –

Next up, the Texas Corvette Association’s 26th Annual Open Car Show makes its way to Boerne’s Main Plaza on April 21st.  Every year, Hauptstrasse (Main Street) is blocked off for this event.  Rain or shine, you can expect to see hundreds of beautiful Corvettes displayed.  As you make your way through the sea of freshly waxed ‘Vettes, know that there is no better opportunity to meander through Boerne’s quaint shops and restaurants.  We guarantee you’ll find something you like!  General admission for this event is free, but there is a fee for vehicle entrants if you want to show your stuff.

Later This Year . . .

Key To The Hills Rod Run –

Mark your calendars for October 13th and 14th to attend Boerne’s 32nd Annual Key to the Hills Rod Run!  This particular event showcases pre-1949 vehicles, which distinguishes it from a “classic car” show.  Just like they do for the Corvette Show earlier in the year, Main Street closes down for a jam-packed weekend full of fun, vendors, shopping and dining.   Waltz down the Hill Country Mile and wait for the delicious aromas of Boerne’s local restaurants to call to you.  With everything from burgers to authentic German fare, you’ll be glad you came!

Spyders in the Hills Rally –

If you’ve never taken a scenic drive through the Hill Country, you are really missing out!  Calling all those who have Spyder vehicles – this is the event for you.  October 18th-20th, the Can-Am Spyders are coming to town and they have plenty of opportunities to “ryde” amongst the scenic beauty of the Texas Hill Country.  They have based themselves right here in Boerne!  Shop for “ryding” gear with their participating vendors, get plenty of fresh Hill Country air, and experience all the charm of Boerne’s historic Main Street.  All of these amenities will make for a perfect getaway trip, so start planning now!

All British Car Show –

Cheerio!  Any British-made car is eligible for registration for this (in my best Mary Poppins voice) “practically perfect in every way” car show.  The 31st Annual All-British Car Show will be held, as it always is, on Boerne’s Main Plaza. Participants will vote for their favorite car in each segmented class, and awards will be given to the winners!  When you’ve gotten your fill at the show, grab a bite at a local eatery, then take a stroll along the Cibolo Creek and say hello to our resident ducks!
