The Arts Are Alive in Boerne This Spring!

With spring comes inspiration.  It is the time of rebirth and renewal.  Express your renewed liveliness through the arts!  Boerne has tons of art events to help celebrate this special time of year.  From paintings to live music, come to Boerne and let your creative juices flow!

Art Al Fresco –

Ever checked out Boerne’s public art program, Art Al Fresco? If you take a drive around Boerne, you’ll find art treasures crafted by sculpting artists from all over the country! Using the Otocast app, take an audio tour with your smart phone as you explore the community-wide exhibit. The new art for 2018 is currently being installed! So get excited!

TAO: Drum Heart –

On April 13th, the last Boerne Performing Arts event takes the Boerne Champion Stage!  TAO is a heart-thumping production full of energy.  This unforgettable group of percussion artists gives new life to the ancient art of Japanese Taiko drumming.

Boerne Parade of Artists –

Hosted by the Boerne Professional Artists, the 22nd Annual Boerne Parade of Artists will be held on April 14th! It is a self-guided tour of the local galleries, studios and other art venues that are here in Boerne. This event will take place in the heart of Boerne on the Hill Country Mile!

Second Saturday Art Beat –

Second Saturdays of the month are a big deal here in Boerne!  There’s so much going on, including the Second Saturday Art Beat! This is an opportunity to see some of Boerne’s best artistic work along The Mile. Galleries and stores featuring works from local artists will remain open late just for you. Keep an eye out for their brightly colored banners to see which locations are participating.

Concerts in the Cave –

Cave Without A Name is hosting TWO more cave concerts this spring. Harpeth Rising on April 14th, and Axioms-Moments of Truth on May 27th.  Experience the brilliant acoustics of the Queen’s Throne Room down inside the cave!

Arts at the Amphitheater –

Arts at the Amphitheater is a free concert series hosted by the Patrick Heath Public Library and sponsored by the Majestic Ranch Arts Foundation. On April 19th, Dale Watson will be in Boerne! Bring blankets, chairs, and a picnic for a fun evening of throwback tunes in PHPL’s outdoor amphitheater. Make sure you catch this, because it’s the last Arts at the Amphitheater event for the spring!

Hauptstrasse Quiltfest –

Admire the handy-work of Boerne’s quilting community at this annual event!  For anyone who enjoys craftiness, your eyes will light up!  Bask in the sight of bright, colorful quilts blowing in a Boerne breeze along the Hill Country Mile and around Main Plaza! Enjoy music, shopping, food, and more on May 5th. Handmade quilts will be available to purchase just in time for Mother’s Day.

Makers Place –

Public paint and sips are always fun!  Meet new people and share your love for creativity by painting on canvas, or opt for a unique ceramic piece at the Makers Place. Keep an eye on their calendar for upcoming events, or simply stop by during regular business hours to start painting!

Boerne Community Theatre –

“The Complete History of America” is a quick-witted comedy about the history of the world...all in a mere 90 minutes! For those who love the excitement of live theatre, BCT keeps audiences entertained throughout the year. This spring show is scheduled each weekend from May 11th – May 26th.  See our calendar for details on tickets and show times!

Art Waddle –

Waddle along Boerne’s scenic Cibolo Creek for the annual Art Waddle on May 12th.  Discover jewelry, pottery, sculptures, paintings and more from over 30 local artists! Start your waddle at 204 W San Antonio, and travel around “The Flats”.

Boerne Concert Band –

The Boerne Concert Band outdoor concerts come back around each time the weather warms up!  Kicking-off this year’s musical series is the annual Memorial Day Concert. The Boerne Concert Band plays a variety of music for all ages to enjoy. This event will have a patriotic twist!  For a relaxing evening on Boerne’s Main Plaza, bring your outdoor gear, including a lawn chair and/or blanket.
