5 Days of 4th of July Fun!

What does Independence Day mean to you? For many it means cookouts, fun in the sun, the anticipation of those beautiful, booming explosions in the sky, time spent with loved ones, and a reminder of how fortunate we are to live as freely as we do. If you love this holiday as much as we do, you’re going to love all the ways you can celebrate it this year here in Boerne. Draw out your celebrations with your family and makes plans for all 5 days!

June 30:

The Roundup’s Independence Celebration

Kicking off the fun on Saturday, The Roundup is hosting their very own 4th of July bash. Live music by JR Herrera will be played to accompany the night, and as always, the kids can take advantage of the onsite playground! Adults will love the full bar and beer garden as well as the yummy food truck dishes. The fireworks show will begin at 11PM. Parking and admission are all free! (6PM-11PM)

July 1:

Random Fireworks Extravaganza

On Sunday, make your way over to Random to enjoy 90+ beers on tap, delicious food truck fare or delectable dishes from the new Bovines and Fins restaurant, and the sound of live music filling the air! Random has always been family and pet friendly. Let the kids run out the remainder of their energy by jumping on the Monster Bounce and playing the onsite yard games. Vendors selling handmade items will be there too. A fireworks show will be held to end the day. Free parking and admission! (12PM)

Boerne Concert Band Independence Day Concert

If you’re one who prefers a more relaxing form of entertainment while still getting all the quality of a live music show, the Boerne Concert Band’s free Independence Day performance should fit your fancy! As the sun begins to set over Boerne's Main Plaza, pair that with the classic sounds of the Boerne Concert Band, and we guarantee it will bring a smile to your face. (7PM-9PM)

July 2:

Beat the crows at Boerne City Lake on the 4th by having a lake play day on Monday the 2nd! Hill Country Paddle Sports has paddleboards and kayaks for rent. This is a great way to get out on the water and explore. Maybe this is an opportunity for you to try something new! Opt for swimming or fishing in the cool, refreshing waters of the lake. To replenish your energy for more fun, either pack your own snack or head over to Random, which is just around the corner! Remember: No motorized watercraft are permitted in the water, and the gates are open from 5AM-10PM. Admission is free for Boerne residents, and $10 per car for non-residents on weekdays. See the Boerne Parks and Recreation website for more details on park rules, admission, hours and more!

July 3:

Patriotic Abendkonzert

The countdown continues with a special Patriotic Abendkonzert at Boerne Main Plaza! Listen to the longest continuously playing German band (outside of Germany, that is) put on a free performance to celebrate the 4th! This is another event that lawn chairs, blankets, and picnics are encouraged. If packing picnics aren't your thing, stop at any one of the Hill Country Mile’s restaurants and pick up something to go! Listen for your favorite American tunes, as well as some German ones, too! (7:30PM-9PM)

July 4:

City of Boerne 4th of July Fireworks Show

Do you remember your childhood days when you used to marvel at the fireworks show? Remember that “boom” feeling in your chest when each one would explode just bursting with various shapes in reds, whites, and blues? Sponsored by the Boerne Fire Department, share this same tradition with your loved ones again at Boerne City Park! Take your little ones out for a day of play at the Boerne Pool or at the Cibolo Nature Center right next door, and then set up your chairs and blankets to catch the free show in the evening. (8PM)

*THIS JUST IN: The Boerne Retailers are putting on a 4th of July "Hot as Heck Summer Sale" on July 6th and July 7th beginning at 10AM on both days! For an additional day of fun, head down to the Hill Country Mile for a slew of great deals at our local shops!*

**ANOTHER UPDATE: Cascade Caverns is hosting a guided Flashlight Tour through the cave at 6:00PM and 7:30PM on July 4th. This hasn't been done in over a year, so this is a special event! Food trucks will be available if you find yourself hungry before or after the tour. This tour is not recommended for children (or adults) who do not like the dark. Space is very limited, so reserve your spot today!**
