9 Ways to Spend Your Sunday in Boerne!

Need to maximize your Sunday Funday? Monday is lurking around the corner, but lucky for you, we’ve got 9 ways to make your final day of rest one to get you truly ready for the week ahead! However, you may just decide to extend your visit to Boerne an extra day!

1. GET BRUNCH

Boerne has so many amazing restaurants – many of which are locally owned! You can get fresh, home-cooked tastes just about anywhere you go here in town, but brunch typically only happens on Sundays! Get all the best of breakfast and lunch compiled into one meal at restaurants like Bovines and Fins, Peggy’s On The Green, Cibolo Creek Brewing Co., 259 Brantley’s Bistro, The Dienger Trading Co., Little Gretel, and Bear Moon Bakery!

2. ART AL FRESCO

In case you haven’t heard, Boerne’s public art program, Art Al Fresco, is up and ready for viewing and voting! First, stop by the Visitors Center to grab a map of all the sculptures to get you started. Next, download the Otocast App onto your smart phone so you can listen to the artists discuss their thoughts and visions on their own individual art piece. Finally, vote for your favorite in the app or visit www.artalfresco.org. When the 2018-2019 voting season ends, your favorite sculpture could be added to Boerne’s permanent collection!

3. BREW, WINE, AND DISTILLERY TOURS

If breweries, wineries, and distilleries fit your fancy, take a tour through one (or more) of them on any given Sunday! When you schedule a tour, you can learn about the ways the Hill Country incorporates local tastes into their spirits. No matter which spirit you are a fan of most, you are bound to enjoy one of Boerne libation creations.

4. HIKE THE CIBOLO NATURE CENTER

Taking a trip to the Cibolo Nature Center on any given day (including Sunday) is a refreshing, easy way to have some outdoor fun! Grab your loved ones and head out to the hiking trails, beautiful scenery, the Cibolo Creek, and lots of open space for leashed pets and exercise! Also, take advantage of regular events like Painting with Pizazz, Thirst for Nature, and the weekly Farmer’s Market (March-December).

5. TAKE A WALKING TOUR

Enlighten yourself by taking a Boerne Walking Tour to learn a little bit about the history of Boerne! Boerne Walking Tours offers “By Day” and “After Dark” tours throughout the week and on Saturdays, and “By Day” tours only on Sundays. You can learn about Boerne’s buildings, original families, it’s German influence and more. Find out how Boerne got its start and how the past translates to the present!

6. TAKE A CAVE TOUR

Boerne’s local caves, Cascade Caverns and Cave Without A Name, are both open and offering tours SEVEN days a week! Learn all about the amazing features on the inside of the cave: stalactites and stalagmites and more. When they turn off the lights, experience what complete darkness really feels like! You can also try your hand at mine sluicing at Cave Without A Name or take home a souvenir from the gift shop at Cascade Caverns! Either way there is loads of fun to be had at whichever cave you choose to spend your Sunday at.

7. PAMPER YOURSELF

Hoping to get some real rest and relaxation before your week begins? Choose to spend your Sunday at one of Boerne’s spas and salons, like Tapatio Springs’ Pure Sol Spa. Get a rejuvenating facial or a revitalizing massage. Sport newly-cut tresses at Simply Serene Salon and Spa, or a fresh mani-pedi at Beyond Bliss Nail Salon and Spa. However you decide to do it, use your last day of the weekend to treat yourself!

8. PLAY GOLF –

Also at Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort and Spa is the opportunity to play a few rounds of golf! Tapatio Springs is open for public play if that’s how you prefer to kick-back on a Sunday. Take in the breathtaking views of the Hill Country that surround the golf course and the driving range. We can’t think of a better way to immerse yourself into the beauty of the hills!

9. LIVE MUSIC, BEER AND FUN

The Roundup Outdoor Music Venue and Random Beer Garden are both open for business on Sundays! Enjoy relaxed atmospheres at either establishment, order your favorite drink, and let the live music do the rest of the entertaining! Bring your kiddos for fun on the Monster Bounce at Random, or the playground at The Roundup. Also, take advantage of delicious, local food trucks at whichever place you choose! Check their Facebook pages for events and acts.
