Boerne turns on the charm for a relaxed weekend

The idea isn’t a completely original one, but as is often the case, Boerne puts its own spin on it.  It's called the "Art Waddle" and Boerne’s Mary Morton came up with it.

What do the Indy 500, Carnegie Hall, NFL Stadiums, The Kennedy Center and Boerne Champion High School Auditorium have in common?  All have hosted the world’s first classically-trained garage band…TIME FOR THREE!  Performing music from Bach and Brahms to their own arrangements of The Beatles, Katy Perry, Kanye West and Justin Timberlake, Time for Three (Tf3 for short) is a charismatic ensemble with a reputation for limitle

Halloween comes early this year when The Boerne Visitors Center’s popular Harvest Moon Celebration marks its 7th year, treating families to a free afternoon of exciting festivities on the grounds of the Historic Kingsbury-Shumard house on Saturday, October 26th.

The Texas Hill Country is a regionally recognized location that spans from Wimberley, New Braunfels and runs north through Boerne, up to Fredericksburg and beyond; including over a dozen counties. With the abundance of land and property and wide open Texas plains, it has become a haven for ex-city slickers looking to leave behind the ever expanding metropolis of San Antonio and family ranchers hanging onto a way of life away from the hustle and bustle.

Who needs a stadium when there’s a band in the house?  A halftime extravaganza beginning with the ancient rhythms of the world’s first drummers will fly on the wings of time only to be re-invented in the sound and fury of a band of musicians…hence, a new drumline is born!

Downtown Boerne, Texas becomes a magical destination for 2 weekends after Thanksgiving. Delight in the Snow every hour, music, theater groups, artisans, horse-drawn carriages (a small fee applies), & of course, Santa Claus outside the Little Nature Store! Take the Stocking Stoll on November 23rd and fill your stocking with goodies from participating merchants.  Enjoy the Brothers of the Flame-the popular "Fire Jugglers" will once again return-they will be located nightly in downtown Boerne. The first Annual Wassail Walk will be on November 30 from 5-8pm at participating stores.

The leaves are changing, the air is brisk, there is no better time to take a getaway trip to the Hill Country than the fall. Pack your bags and head to Boerne and set your goals to relax and indulge in a cozy B&B or Inn, stroll the streets and maybe even pick up a few things on your holiday gift list, there are tons of great shops and galleries to get ideas from. Take a road trip through the back roads, visit Lost Maple State Park, or Guadalpe River State Park,  or visit some of our neighboring towns, there's lots to do!

Boerne has been named one of the top 10 small towns in the United States in a new national ranking.

Boerne, about 15 minutes northwest of San Antonio was ranked fourth by Livability.com, a national website that highlights more than 500 of America’s best places to live and visit.
